OPEN POSITIONS

Contentpass offers website publishers a GDPR-compliant solution to increase digital revenues while enabling users to visit their favorite sites ad- and tracking-free with our cross-publisher subscription. Our network includes over 500 publishers in Europe, such as Axel Springer, Burda, Hearst and Prisa. We are a fast growing startup now expanding into other countries.

SENIOR JAVASCRIPT SDK ENGINEER (F/M/D)

With privacy at heart, our SDK is built to integrate seamlessly with over 500 publisher websites — ensuring tracking-free experiences for users while handling billions of page impressions every month. It plays a critical role in enforcing consent decisions and interacts closely with various Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) to make this work reliably and fast at scale.
Join us as a Senior Frontend Engineer to take over responsibility for this high-impact JavaScript SDK and help shape the technical backbone of our privacy-first ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Own: Take full ownership of our JavaScript SDK used across hundreds of partner sites and seen by millions of users daily.
  • Integrate: Maintain and evolve our integrations with CMPs such as Sourcepoint, Didomi, and Usercentrics, including platform-specific wrappers.
  • Standardize: Work on unifying and potentially open-sourcing the CMP API wrapper layer.
  • Improve: Spot performance issues, browser quirks, or integration pitfalls across different environments and fix them before they become problems.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with product, engineering, and partners to roll out new features and resolve real-world edge cases.

Qualifications

  • Seniority: At least 5 years of experience in frontend development, ideally involving SDKs, third-party scripts, or browser-side integration work.
  • JavaScript expertise: Deep understanding of the language, Web standards and browser APIs
  • SDK mindset: You've built or maintained libraries or APIs meant to be used by other developers. You think in terms of public interfaces, clear documentation, backward compatibility, and handling unknown environments gracefully
  • Code quality: You care deeply about correctness, stability, and performance — especially when your code runs on production websites you don't control.
  • Compatibility: You know how to build something that runs in IE8 — just kidding, it's 2025. But we do care about building things that work (almost) everywhere.
  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication (English), able to explain technical challenges to both engineers and non-engineers.
  • Startup spirit: A self-starter with a can-do attitude and ownership mentality — someone who thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment.

Bonus points

  • Familiarity with CMPs and privacy regulation ecosystems (TCF, IAB, etc.)
  • Experience maintaining or contributing to open source projects
  • Experience debugging browser behavior across environments and devices
  • Background in digital publishing, advertising, or subscriptions

Benefits

  • Impact: Shape a core component of our platform that touches millions of users every day.
  • Ownership: Take on a central engineering responsibility and make decisions that matter.
  • Learning: Work directly with the founding team and gain deep insight into privacy tech, consent ecosystems, and high-scale JavaScript delivery.
  • Flexibility: Enjoy a fully remote work setup from anywhere within CET ±4h.
  • Culture: Join a focused, friendly team that values autonomy, clarity, and impact.
  • Equity: Besides a competitive salary, we also offer equity

SENIOR DEVOPS ENGINEER (F/M/D)

With a small team and billions of monthly page impressions across more than 500 websites, our infrastructure needs to be fast, secure, and reliable — without becoming over-engineered. We run on a mix of bare metal and cloud (OVH), orchestrated with multiple Kubernetes clusters, and monitored with Mimir, Prometheus, Grafana and Loki. Our data flows through Redis, Postgres, and BigQuery. Deployments are handled via GitHub Actions.
Join us as a Senior DevOps Engineer to help maintain, extend, and improve the foundation everything is built on and help shape the technical backbone of our privacy-first ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Operate: Maintain and improve our Kubernetes-based infrastructure across bare metal and OVH cloud environments.
  • Monitor: Set up and extend monitoring, logging and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki to ensure stability and visibility.
  • Automate: Work on CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate everything from testing to production deployment.
  • Support: Provide infrastructure guidance and tooling support to our engineering team.
  • Secure: Help ensure that our systems follow best practices around access control, data privacy, and fault isolation.

Qualifications

  • Seniority: At least 5 years of experience running production infrastructure in high-traffic environments.
  • Systems knowledge: Strong understanding of Linux, containers, Kubernetes, and networking basics.
  • Cloud experience: Familiarity with managing hybrid setups across bare metal and cloud (OVH, OpenStack or similar).
  • Tooling: Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki), CI/CD pipelines (especially GitHub Actions), and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Database awareness: Comfortable managing or tuning production instances of Postgres, Redis, and/or BigQuery.
  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal English skills, and the ability to explain infra decisions clearly.
  • Startup spirit: A pragmatic mindset, sense of ownership, and a desire to ship reliable systems over perfect ones.

Bonus points

  • Experience running workloads across multiple regions or data centers
  • Familiarity with privacy-sensitive architectures or compliance-aware infrastructure
  • Past work optimizing cost/performance in hybrid cloud setups
  • Experience deploying, maintaining, or even writing JavaScript-based services

Benefits

  • Impact: Shape the infrastructure of a system trusted by hundreds of publishers and millions of users.
  • Ownership: Be part of a small platform team with high autonomy and real decision-making power.
  • Learning: Work directly with the founding team and gain exposure to real-world scale and traffic.
  • Flexibility: Enjoy a fully remote work setup from anywhere within CET ±4h.
  • Culture: Join a focused, friendly team that values clarity, reliability, and pragmatism.
  • Equity: Besides a competitive salary, we also offer equity.
