With contentpass, you can visit any of our participating partner websites for a flat monthly fee without viewing any annoying advertising or having your date tracked. We are firmly convinced that it is time to bring transparency to the use of your data - and to offer privacy-conscious users & publishers a fair and simple alternative.
You only have to register once with contentpass - we distribute the revenue from the subscriptions to the publishers.
The participating publishers earn the equivalent of the lost advertising revenue with every article you read. For this purpose we count every page view of a contentpass user on the publisher's website, but without creating any personal profiles. The publishers only receive the number of page views of all contentpass users - never personal data of contentpass users that can be used to track you.
The contentpass publishers are not permitted to use any advertising banners or video ads for paying users. Discreet self-advertising; for example, premium content of the publishers, or paid links in editorial content remain permitted.
When an ad-supported page is loaded, the user viewing the page usually has their data sent to dozens, potentially hundreds of advertising providers who derive the user's interests from each individual website visit in order to play out the most targeted advertising possible. For users with contentpass, this practice is prevented. The publisher is still allowed to count the visits to his website for statistical purposes, e.g. to determine which articles are particularly popular. However, no personal data may be collected or user profiles generated for paying contentpass users.
No, if you've only clicked on the "Decline and subscribe" button, you have not initiated a subscription with ContentPass, and there is no further action required. The free trial month begins only when you have created an account at contentpass.net and provided your payment details.
The consent banner is a legal requirement as our partner websites cannot process personal data or share it with third parties without your consent. To provide their services free of charge, websites rely on advertising revenue. As an alternative approach, at contentpass, we compensate our partner websites for the equivalent of ad-revenue they would have earned for each article you view when you subscribe.
contentpass was built from the idea of "privacy by design and by default", which means we avoid collecting personal data at all wherever possible.
During registration, a user only needs to provide an email address, password, country of residence (tax law requirement), and payment method. A name is only required for the optional specification of a billing address. In the circumstance of your account usage, contentpass stores the number of page views per publisher on pages you visit for billing reasons. This usage data is automatically deleted after billing.
Most certainly. We can confidently say this at any moment. We are currently working with publishers to bring more & more websites included with the contentpass. As far as we are concerned the sky is the limit!
Most certainly, yes! With a contentpass subscription you can surf on all your computers, smartphones, tablets, consoles and refrigerators ad and tracking free. There is no hard limit to a certain number of devices. However, we reserve the right to check if you are really surfing on 34 devices at the same time in case of obvious abuse. Also to be truly honest, we have not tested whether each of our partner websites works on your toaster... (yet).
Payment is currently possible via Paypal, credit card or direct debit.
In order to opt in to ads & tracking on contentpass' partner sites you must first enable cookies in your browser. A cookie must be set to remember the status of your consent, otherwise you will be shown the consent screen on each subsequent visit to the website.

Further instructions will be automatically sent to the e-mail address you provided.
Some of our partner websites also offer a subscription for paid content in addition to the contentpass. This content subscription is independent of the type of access. So you can choose advertising and tracking or contentpass regardless of your subscription status with our publishing partners.
Unfortunately, contentpass does not give you access to this premium content.
There are a few reasons this could happen. Perhaps you previously consented to the use of your data for advertising purposes on the partner website, or you originally logged in on a different device than the one on which you are currently seeing ads.
In order to use contentpass, you can open the corresponding partner website via our list of partners, thereby all consents to advertising are automatically revoked and you can login with contentpass.
In rare cases, advertising may still appear on our partner websites. Despite careful checking, this can occur on sub-pages or newly published pages.
Should you find isolated advertisements, we would love to get your feedback. We will always try our best to remove advertisements for contentpass users as quickly as possible with the help of our partner websites.
If you constantly receive new consent requests on one or more of our partner websites, this is most likely due to your cookie settings.
Unfortunately, we require cookies on our partner websites and our website to provide our service.
It is technically impossible to determine whether you have already surfed on a page without setting a cookie. We will not store personal data, but only that you have already visited the website.
We're sorry that you are not satisfied with our offer. We're always trying to improve our product and we would be happy to receive feedback on why you want to cancel, if you have a moment to tell us.
If you log in to your contentpass account at my.contentpass.net, you can cancel your subscription with just 2 clicks on the user dashboard. To do this, use the button/link at the bottom of your subscription details and confirm your cancellation. You will be able to continue using contentpass as usual until the end of the billing period.
If you change your mind and want to reactivate your subscription, you can easily activate it again with the same link on the user dashboard in your subscription details.
